As of July 1, 2015, Lewis and Clark Community College will be smoke-free.
In response to the passage of the Illinois Smoke-Free Campus Act (Public Act 098-0985), the college has taken action to comply with the law and support entirely smoke-free campuses.
This includes tobacco, e-cigarettes and any other type of smoke. Smoking is prohibited indoors and outdoors, as well as in college-owned and private vehicles that are on campus property.
Lewis and Clark hopes to promote an environment that supports the health and wellbeing of its students, staff, faculty and visitors. Transitioning to a smoke free campus decreases the effects of secondhand smoke, promotes fire safety and helps support the college's efforts toward sustainability.
The college and Lewis and Clark Family Health Clinic are offering information on available resources for those who may be interested in exploring cessation options, which you can find below in our resources section.
Access to Blackboard is controlled by BlazerNet. You use your BlazerNet ID/password to access Blackboard. Students will not have access to Blackboard until 1 week prior to the start of the class. Please note that access is determined by the start of the class and not the start of the semester. If you enrolled in the LCCC 202: Introduction to Online Learning course today, you will not have access to Blackboard and the course until tomorrow.
Access to Blackboard does not happen automatically. During the actual semester, if you enroll in a new class, you will not have access to the class until the following day. If you log into Blackboard and you are missing a course, you need to contact the Enrollment Center at 618-468-2222 to see if there is an issue with your enrollment in the missing class.
